Lloyd on the radio

At CJSR FM 88.5 in Edmonton (the University of Alberta campus radio station) Lloyd has his own radio show called "The Late Babe Lloyd Show" (Thursday nights/Friday mornings, 1:30 a.m.). It is an ecclectic mix of pop genres such as experimental, spoken word, ambient, metal, rock, hip hop, and other stuff. One thing that all of the artists played on "The Late Babe Lloyd Show" have in common is that you will not have heard of most of them. Of course, on air, Lloyd is his usual charming self.

Before Lloyd began hosting "The Late Babe Lloyd Show", he occasionally did "fill-in" shows for DJs who weren't be able to do an installment of their regular weekly shows. Lloyd called his fill-in shows "Whatchoo talkin' 'bout, Phyllis?".

This page features the existing recordings of Lloyd's radio show. As the files are quite large, here's a suggested procedure of listening to the show, if you want to hear more than one segment:

  • Click on the segment you want to hear to download it (you may have to "right-click").
  • Download only that segment, as downloading multiple files simultaneously results in slower downloading.
  • Wait until the file is fully downloaded.
  • Once the file is fully downloaded, click the next segment you want to hear to begin downloading it.
  • Now you can listen to the first segment while downloading the next one.

    2. As this show was very late at night, and quite long, Lloyd was very tired and he didn't try very hard to be professional. He just let his Lloyd-ness flow out, with mixed results. But he sure picked some great tunes!
